NEW Teen class
Letters to a Young Writer: What It Takes to Be an Artist
DATE
July 20, 2020-July 24, 2020
Location
Online—Live Meeting
So you've decided to be a writer! What's next? Being a writer takes creativity and attention to the world wherever you go!
In one week, our class will write a lot! But we will also explore the writing lifestyle and what it takes to be a writer. We'll explore how to find inspiration, how to create your own writing space, how to develop your own voice by hearing from a vast cast of diverse writers, and we'll learn how to build a writing community by creating our own workshop group for the week.
Students will submit 2-5 pages of poetry, essay, or fiction to be workshopped in a class setting. Each student will receive a 1-page letter of response and critique from teaching artist.
Note: This class is for serious writers who are in the process of working on their own creative writing projects.
